Pre-order Smoke Eaters, Help Firefighters

Smoke Eaters by Sean Grigsby

We do like a good charity and finding a way to support one through book sales is one of our favourite things to do. After last year’s campaign to support Freedom Service Dogs of America with a pre-order campaign for Wendy N Wagner’s An Oath of Dogs we’re going to do another pre-order campaign, this time for Sean Grigsby‘s Smoke Eaters!

It seems apt, seeing as when not writing about firefighters fighting dragons Sean is a firefighter himself, that Sean’s chosen charity is The Leary Firefighters Foundation. Here’s a little more about them, from the website:

The Leary Firefighters Foundation was established in 2000 by actor Denis Leary in response to a tragic fire in Worcester, Massachusetts that claimed the lives of Denis’ cousin, a childhood friend, and four other firefighters. The Leary Firefighters Foundation’s mission is to provide funding and resources for Fire Departments to obtain the best available equipment, technology and training. We are dedicated to helping maintain the highest level of public safety in our communities.

A noble cause, we think you’ll agree. And here’s Sean on why he wants to support this particular charity:

“After a tragic fire in Worcester, Massachusetts took the lives of six firefighters, The Leary Firefighters Foundation was established to provide funding and resources to fire departments to obtain the best equipment, technology, and training available. In giving to my brothers and sisters in the fire service, we will be helping to keep all of our communities safe.”

So from now now until March 6 (March 1 in the UK) for each Smoke Eaters pre-order confirmation we receive we’ll donate $1 to Sean’s chosen charity.

All you have to do is send a receipt for the pre-order to our Penny (penny.reeve@angryrobotbooks.com) and she’ll tot up the number once the book is published.

So dig deep Robots and get yourself an excellent book, while supporting a great charity!
