News about Strange Chemistry and Exhibit A

By

As you will be aware, Angry Robot Books has a history of innovation and we continue to go from strength to strength. We’re constantly trying out new concepts and new ideas, and we continue to publish popular and award-winning books. Our YA imprint Strange Chemistry and our crime/mystery imprint Exhibit A have – due mainly to market saturation – unfortunately been unable to carve out their own niches with as much success.

We have therefore made the difficult decision to discontinue Strange Chemistry and Exhibit A, effective immediately, and no further titles will be published from these two imprints.

The core Angry Robot imprint is robust, however, and we plan to increase our output from 2 books a month, to 3. We have no plans to cancel any titles other than those of Strange Chemistry and Exhibit A.

I am so sad to hear this! Strange Chemistry and Exhibit A books are my favorites (and those of my co-bloggers).

Sad news and it is a difficult market becoming even harder. I’ve got a couple of titles from both and both really enjoyed them and recommended them.
Best of luck to the authors finding a new home as good as Angry Robot (as a group)

I am so very sad to hear of this. Strange Chemistry has published many works that I have enjoyed and that I love having on my bookshelf. I know that I will continue to read and purchase Angry Robot titles as I have always found them to be wonderful stories of genre fiction. I will look forward to that additional book a month. Let’s hope they feature alien zombies and other things equally fantastic. :) Thank you to all the authors who have been published with Angry Robot and their imprints. I have enjoyed your books immensely and I shall continue to do so. :)

I’m so sorry to hear tha these imprints didn’t get the market share they deserved – particularly Strange Chemistry – even as I recognize how difficult publishing has become.

I loved the novels Strange Chemistry published and so did my followers. It’s a sad day for YA fiction.
