Time for an “oooh” and an “aaaah”…

By Lee

DeadStreets-front-72dpi-ROUBack in April we brought you Vincent Chong’s cover for Tim Waggoner’s zombie P.I. novel Nekropolis. We’ve just had the art through for the second book in the series, Dead Streets.

Three-time British Fantasy Award-winner, Vinnie has excelled himself with his latest cover – look at the expression on Matt Richter’s face (click on the image to see a bigger version). He may be dead, he may be chained up, but he looks to be saying: You’ve got me exactly where I want me.

Dead Streets is out in the UK and Australia in March, and in the U.S. and the rest of the world in September.

[UPDATE]
Breaking news, just in: Back in July, when our U.S. schedule was still under discussion, we sent Publishers Weekly our first four books for review. PW chose to review two of the four (Slights and Nekropolis), and both books were featured as Starred Reviews (which basically means they rock).

Nekropolis is reviewed today:

Vivid description and characterization, as well as a complex, intricately crafted setting reminiscent of J.K. Rowling’s Harry Potter universe, keep the pages turning at a rapid rate… Both horror and mystery readers will be delighted by this horror-noir adventure.

This makes the Robot Less Angry (but don’t worry, we’ll find something to make us furious tomorrow, I’m sure…

Ooh, Aah.. I *love* this cover!! Sometimes publishers just don’t get it right when it comes to covers, but you guys have got it spot on with Tim Waggoner’s series, they are just brilliant. I love the black and white image with red font. Just great! :)
