Monday Morning Review roundup

By Lee

Triumff-front-72dpiWe had a fab time at the Angry Robot launch on Saturday – the post is already written, but the video is going to take a while to upload, so until then, feast your eyes on these reviews:

Matthew Farrer (guesting over at Dan Abnett’s blog) tells us that:

Triumff is the sort of story that tends to get described as “rollicking… It’s a good word. Rollicking, roistering, roller-coasting. You can tell that Dan had fun with this… there’s a high-spirited gusto in Triumff that I don’t think I’ve really seen from him before. The sense of fun is infectious – if you read this book in company I predict you’ll be regularly tugging your companions’s sleeves wanting to share the bit that just got you chuckling.

KellsLegend-front-72dpiAnd over at the epically-titled Fantasy and Sci-Fi Lovin’ News and Reviews we discover that:

Remic certainly managed a tour de force with Kell’s Legend. I’ve never read anything quite so unapologetic about its violence, but also brilliant in its brute force…  it’s entertaining and powerful, taking all that is wonderful about truly epic, adventurous fantasy and twisting it like Quentin Tarantino twists the movies.
